Person-Centred Counselling for Women and Girls

A warm welcome

I’m Susannah, an experienced and qualified person-centred counsellor and founder of Root and Flow Counselling. I provide therapeutic support to girls (13+) and women in person and online. In person sessions take place in the beautiful Warwickshire villages of Combrook (CV35) and Fenny Compton (CV47).

I offer an accepting, authentic and confidential therapeutic relationship. Together, we will co-create a dynamic and open-minded space to explore whatever it is that you need to share, discover, process and release.

As a registered member of the BACP, my practice is underpinned by the ethical framework, ongoing supervision and continual professional development. I hold a clean enhanced DBS certificate and I am subscribed to the DBS Update Service.

Take your time to explore my website and learn more about me, my approach and next steps. I am happy to answer any questions you may have via the contact page.

Counselling for women

Today, as women, we are expected to have it all, do it all, be it all. For everyone. All the time. It’s a lot. I get it. I live it too. But you don’t have to do it alone.

With all the messages about what you should and should not be, it is easy to become disconnected from your true self and wind up feeling lost and disempowered. Perhaps your childhood trauma keeps repeating itself in your relationships. Your low self-esteem makes you say yes when you mean no. You’re constantly worried and live in a state of panic. You find yourself constantly trying to please others and neglecting your own needs again and again. You lay awake at night wondering if you said the right thing? Did the right thing? You’re fearful of being ‘too much’ whilst also feeling ‘not enough’.

With tailored counselling support you can uncover, reconnect and step into your power. Discover balance and ease as you navigate life’s complexities. I can offer you a space which is dedicated solely to you and your needs. If you would like to explore if counselling is right for you, you are welcome to book a free introductory phone or video call today.

Counselling for girls

I recognise that adolescence can be a complicated and distressing time for many, leading to poor mental health and destructive coping strategies.

Pressure to ‘succeed’ academically and socially, difficulties around identity and social media addiction, are just a few of the issues contributing to mental health struggles for young people today. The negative ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic can also not be underestimated.

In my counselling sessions with girls (ages 13 to 17), I provide a safe space to think, feel and reflect. My aim is to form a trusting therapeutic relationship whilst also encouraging independence and self-confidence. Some of the most common presenting issues I work with are: poor body image, anxiety, eating disorders, family issues, exam stress, friendship difficulties, depression and low self-esteem.
